Cuz I Still Obey My Momma

So since we haven't heard from either side of the family requesting the glory of our presence for Thanksgiving, we decided to stay home.

Not a hard decision. I like to stay home every chance I get.

Unless I want to go somewhere.

Which I didn't.

Then my mom calls me at work in the middle of the day last week.

Once my heart stopped pounding loudly and I could hear what she said, I realized she was asking me if we would be home for Thanksgiving.

Which we would, coincidentally.

Once she and dad make their tour around the state attending 50th wedding anniversary parties and visiting other family members they've decided to crash our Thanksgiving party.

And bring half our living relatives with them.

I don't mean to be unkind, but I'm glad our numbers have dwindled over the years.

Cause as it is, I'm going to have to make Thanksgiving dinner stretch by making lots of desserts.

Maybe I should tell them to bring a couple more...

Girl I am all about letting people bring stuff! I used to not allow it, wanting to do everything myself but since I am SO over my trying-to-be- Martha-Stewart days, I graciously say YES PLEASE!
This year my mom is bringing deviled eggs, sweet potato souffle, the obligatory peach halves with the cottage cheese and cherries on top, and a pumpkin pie. My mom in law is bringing corn and green beans. I say BRING IT ON!

Whatever you have, I hope your Thanksgiving is wonderful! ENJOY!

Yep. Have them bring stuff.

This year, we were a little discombobulated because my inlaws decided to go on a Hawaiian cruise over thanksgiving. And all the relatives took this opportunity to just to one thanksgiving and hang out with the other side of their family. Well, since our other side is in California, that was going to be pretty tough. But, we made piece with it and my SIL is coming to help with babysitting, so it should be a nice relaxing day, with just us.

Bring and share is fun. You get lots of different recipes for all kinds of tastes.

I like to stay home, but even more, I love to be surrounded by people. And then sleep for the next three days.

Hope you have a good Thanksgiving.
