Blink. Blink.
That's how the weekend was.
Fast.
Unless you were a 4 year old.
I know someone who is very, very glad her mommy is home. (That selfsame mommy is rather glad to be home!)
It was a very good trip. The hairshow was HUGE. I heard there were about 10,000 people in attendance. (That very well may be around the population of my town.)
We did all sorts of things. Shopped (and shopped) and all I purchased (clothes-wise) was a belt and some shoes. It wasn't for lack of trying. I tried on countless pairs of jeans to no avail. I once saw a picture of Eva Longoria sitting in her closet and behind her was a a full wall of jeans hanging from hangers. I just want to know how this chick found so many pairs of jeans to fit her! I'm sure being a size 2 helps-- or is she just like us and has a closet full and wears the same two pairs?
I took lots of photos. I've got to get them processed. I'll post them as I can. Mrs. Blogoway, you'll get your wish as I had my friends take photos of me too.
Although we did lots of shopping and sight seeing, of course, my favorite thing was the
Art Institute. There was a special exhibit of James McNeil Whistler and Edward Hopper. I absolutely love Edward Hopper for his strong use of color and light. My favorite painting is not Night Hawks which is probably is most famous and parodied painting, mine is Chop Suey.
Hopefully, I can show you at some point. Or you could google it, I'm sure.
Of course, the European, Contemporary and Architectural sections were fabulous also.
Then... as a final hurrah before leaving Chicago, we went ice skating, something I haven't done in about 15 years and even so, this was my second time. It was lots of fun and surprisingly, I can walk today. I was afraid I'd be very sore.
It was a great trip. There was some snow on the ground when we got there, but Sunday was rather mild and most all of it had melted by Monday morning. I thought it would snow Monday, but it only barely flurried. That's O.K., that means there was no delay coming home.
Well, now it's time to jump back into my wildly flowing river of life and see if I can stay current. (Get it? Current? HA!)
See ya soon!

I have my favorite pair of jeans that get worn almost everyday after work. I keep telling myself that I should at least get a couple more of the same pair. Maybe even in a couple shades of blue?
Glad you're back, AJ! Sounds like you had a ball.
So glad you had a great time. The art sounds great. Wasn't Hopper the one who painted that woman laying in a field with a house in the distance?
I know we studied his work in college.
I can't wait to see the pics!
